The fundamental karyotype of Alstroemeria violacea Phil. (Alstroemeriaceae)
Keywords:
Alstroemeria violacea, karyotype, LTCAbstract
The karyotype of Alstroemeria violacea Phil. from Chile was described. The species presented a karyotype 2n = 2x = 16, and a haploid formula of 3m + 1st + 2st-sat + 1t + 1t-sat. The reported karyotype is asymmetric, with CVCL = 53.9 ± 7.5, MCA = 50.8 ± 6.4, and TLC = 236.5 ± 16.8 µm. The latter is discussed including data of other species. This is the first karyotypic report of A. violacea from wild populations in Chile.
