Two species of the genus Crenotia Wojtal are known to be present in Chile: C. thermalis (Rabenhorst) Wojtal and C. rumrichorum (Lange-Bertalot) Wojtal. Using light and electron microscopy, we studied and comment the morphological features of C. rumrichorum from Salar Aguas Calientes and Punta Negra. The species is recorded for the first time from Salar Aguas Calientes.
